Mt Alexander Regional Park

Just over 100kms north of Tarneit along the Calder Freeway in Harcourt is Mt Alexander Regional Park. Rising to about 650 to 700m above sea level, this fantastic regional park in the Victorian goldfields features walk-in dispersed camping with a bonus – dogs are allowed on lead! There aren’t too many good camping spots (free ones at that) close to Tarneit save for the ones at Brisbane Ranges and along the Great Ocean road. This area makes for a great free camping spot! A must visit. No bookings required, no fees.
