A report by the company stated that between factors such as the use of green power and the expected annual production of 4.7 MWh of electricity from the PV installation, ”the home is likely to have a net operational carbon footprint that is very close to or beyond carbon neutral”.

It may not feature travelators or robot housekeepers but this carbon neutral, nine-star energy rated house is being heralded as the home of the future.
Everything from the light bulbs to the garage door have been designed to conserve energy in the Franklin home, which features a 3.04kW solar PV system and an 11,700 litre rainwater tank.
Owner Sanjiv Gosain said the house, which took about two years to complete from design to construction, was built to the standards of the future.

”The future is to save the Earth and to live in comfort,” he said.
”That’s the motto of this house, conserve energy and live in comfort. We are not compromising on comfort, but we are saving on energy.”
